Bio
Maggie León-Corwin (née Chamberlain) is a Ph.D. student and Graduate Teaching Associate with degrees in Sociology from Texas State University-San Marcos. Here at OSU, Maggie specializes in Environmental Sociology and Social Inequality while pursuing a G.I.S Certificate from the Department of Geography.
Maggie is an active member of The William Averette Anderson Fund Fellowship and regularly engages in university and departmental service activities. Currently, Maggie serves as President of Alpha Kappa Delta and the Sociology Graduate Student Association (SGSA).
Her primary research interests include Environmental Justice, Hazards and Disasters, and Geospatial Methods. Maggie's dissertation project, advised by Dr. Liesel Ritchie and chaired by Dr. Michael Long, is at the intersection of her primary interests and investigates risk perception of fracking induced seismicity in Oklahoma. Maggie hopes to graduate in 2022 and looks forward to going on the job market in Fall 2021.
