Monica Whitham earned her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 2014. Her primary research interests are social psychology, group processes, social networks, and community sociology. Broadly, her research agenda examines the effects of social connections, such as social capital and social identity, on processes and outcomes that require cooperative collective input, including community success and generalized exchange. Her work has been published in the American Sociological Review,Sociological Forum, and Social Psychology Quarterly.
