Graduate Student Receives Highly Competitive Recognition

The Department of Sociology would like to recognize one of our Graduate Students!

Srijana Karki has been awarded a "Distinguished Graduate Fellowship" for 2019-2020 academic year. This award is given by the Oklahoma State University Foundation and coordinated by the Oklahoma State University Graduate College.

The Distinguished Graduate Fellowship provides scholarly recognition and financial support to some of the nation's top graduate school applicants. Students are able to look to Oklahoma State University as an institution which not only provides excellent instruction, but also offers competitive financial assistance.
These top students like Srijana add to Oklahoma State University's ability to be counted among the nation's top research institutions by significantly contributing to important research projects.

Srijana is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology. She completed her M.A. in Development Studies in 2013 from Annamalai University, located in India. She completed her B.A. in Development Studies in 2009 from Kathmandu University, located in Nepal. Some of her interest areas are gender, education, and qualitative methods. Further, she is interested in applied dimensions of sociology.
