The Sociology Club offers an opportunity to get involved with the sociology department, gain leadership opportunities, and participate in off-campus activities. These activities include trips to juvenile detention centers, museums, prisons, and many other places of interest to sociologists. In addition, members often host pot lucks or other social activities for undergraduate students, graduate students and faculty.
The club also focuses on philanthropy projects, and many club members contribute time to local social service agencies such as Payne County Youth Services, CASA and Wings of Hope. Members get to be involved in department activities by helping to organize speakers, discussion panels, or film viewings on sociology topics, as well as selecting the Outstanding Sociology Faculty of the year.
The Sociology Club welcomes students from any major, and usually meets twice a month. For more information on how to get involved, please contact Dahlia Molloy at email@example.com
