The day care center is located in an absorption center near Jerusalem. These are the children of recent Jewish immigrants from Ethiopia. Professor Bell traveled to Israel with the Fulbright Program.
Research Interests: Quantitative Methods of Research, Qualitative Methods of Research, Social Demography, and Sociology of Law.
Patricia Bell is Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology at Oklahoma State University and has been a member of the faculty since 1981. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. Her areas of expertise include social research design, sociology of law, and social demography. Dr. Bell has conducted research and published in the areas of labor force participation, migration, social mobility, census coverage, and undercount of the African American population, among other topics. Dr. Bell has presented research findings in international meetings around the globe, and teaches classes on the topics of world population problems and immigrant and ethnic minorities. Most recently she received a Fulbright Award to travel in Israel and Jordan, and has taught in Central America.
