Cross Stops Guajardo. Defending Mid-South welterweight champion
John Cross of Fort Smith dropped Johnny Guajardo of North Little
Rock for the full count Thursday night with a solid left in the second
round of their Mid-South Golden Gloves match at Memphis. The kayo
came at 49 seconds of the second round. Cross suffered an eye cut
in the first round.

Cross is Associate Professor of Sociology and has been employed
at Oklahoma State University since 1985. He received his doctorate
of philosophy degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia.
His areas of expertise include Law & Society, Complex/Formal
Organizations, Labor Markets: Occupations and Professions.
Dr.
Cross has conducted and published research in the area of labor
force participation on American Indian Reservations, origins of
vice laws, gambling laws, and drug laws. His research has been
instrumental in theory development especially the Integrated Conflict
Model of Criminal Law Formation.
Dr. Cross presents his research
at international, national, and regional professional associations.
He has also been called to act as a consultant in court cases in
Canada and the U.S. He teaches course in Law & Legal Institutions,
Honors Law, Complex Organizations, Criminology, and Juvenile Delinquency.
Professor Cross is also Editor of the professional journal Free
Inquiry in Creative Sociology and Coordinator of the Native American
Studies Program.
